All 3 sites on Jackson Road Sunnybank Hills are still open and unaffected by the flooding, but obviously we are affected by the ability to get goods in and out of our stores due to transport company and container difficulties. Like everyone else in Brisbane who didn't get flooded we are affected by the floods in many indirect ways, this will take time to sort itself out, but we will work through it, please be patient at this difficult time.

The new Electrolux Touchline Combi Oven has been successfully launched in both NSW and QLD. The NSW event was held at the serene location of Pilu at Freshwater to a welcoming crowd of industry professionals, with the QLD event taking place at the state's recently voted number 1 restaurant - Ortiga, with Electrolux's own Italian chef - Luca Moro - present for the occasion. The casual evenings included food and drinks with the 6, 10 and 20 tray Touchline combi ovens being the centre of attention.

The first completely installed and operational Electrolux Touchline oven is now producing delicious dishes at Alastair McLeod's brilliant new fine dining experience - Tank Restaurant in Brisbane City. The fit-out also includes several products from the Elco 700HP range as well as Electrolux green and clean dishwashers.

It was a who's who of Austrlia's top culinary talent when the industry came together for the announcement of the winners of this year's Electrolux Appetite for Excellence Awards in Sydney. The awards were attended by Australia's leading chefs, restaurateurs and food industry luminaries, including special guest of honour for this year's award, Australian chef Brett Graham, the owner of London's two Michelin starred Ledbury restaurant.

Over the past few months, the 2010 contenders have competed in a range of hospitality challenged to prove their culinary skills including mystery box cook offs, customer service tests, food and wine knowledge tests and one-on-one interiews, all under careful scrutiny of a jusging panel comprised of Australia's leading chefs and hospitality leaders.

Taking out the title of the Young Chef of the Year was Soren Lascelles, sous chef at Sydney's Assiette restaurant. Named Best Young Waiter was Louise Tamayo, assistant manager at two hat restaurant Becasse in SYdney. However, when it came to the Best Young Restaurateur Award, there were two competitors who were impossible to separate, Thomas Moore from Granzing restaurant in the ACT and Kim Coronica from Richmond Hill Cafe and Larder.

Three of Australia's top chefs will go head to head in an Australian adaption of the world famous cooking show, Iron Chef. Electrolux's very own Neil Perry, of Rockpool Bar & Grill and Spice Temple fame, was the first chef to be announced. Having specifically requested and made use of Electrolux Professional equipment throughout his career, Neil has risen through the ranks of Australia's chefs to now be considered one of the countries best exponents of fine food. Joining him for the beginning of production next month in Melbourne will be the famed Guillaume Brahami from Bannelong, as well as Melbourne's own Guy Grossi from Grossi Florentino. These chefs will compete against aspiring professional cooks in a battle against the clock to produce the best menu, as judged by some of the most astute food critics in the country.
