A Stylish Back Bar for Modern Hospitality | Airex Available Through Stoddart

June 1, 2026

In hospitality venues, refrigeration has become part of the overall experience. Behind the bar, it’s expected to look sharp, keep products visible and support fast-paced service. In the kitchen, it needs to work efficiently under pressure while helping staff move quickly during busy periods. With the latest additions coming to the Airex Refrigeration range, Stoddart is focusing on both.

Expanding on its existing compact back bar lineup, Airex is introducing a new range of full-height back bars designed for modern bars, restaurants, pubs and hotels looking for a balance of performance and presentation. The larger-format cabinets give venues more flexibility when designing their back bar setup, whether it’s a compact cocktail venue or a high-volume hospitality space requiring greater storage capacity.

A standout feature across the range is the frameless heated glass doors fitted as standard. Using frameless double-glazed Low-E Argon-filled heated glass, the doors (lockable) are designed to reduce condensation while maintaining clear visibility of beverages throughout service. Rather than bulky framing, the cleaner glass finish creates a more refined look behind the bar and helps displayed products become part of the venue’s visual appeal.

Inside the cabinets, concealed full-height vertical LED lighting provides bright and even illumination across all shelves. The lighting has also been designed with flexibility in mind, featuring dimmable controls that allow venues to shift the atmosphere from daytime service through to evening trade. It’s a practical feature, but one that also contributes to the overall ambience of the bar area.

Storage capacity has also been carefully considered for busy venues. The two-door model stores up to 236 standard bottles, while the larger three and four-door models increase capacity to approximately 348 and up to 460 bottles respectively. For operators, that means less time spent restocking during peak periods and more room to showcase a wider beverage offering.

The range also uses environmentally friendly R290 hydrocarbon refrigerant, helping reduce environmental impact while maintaining strong refrigeration performance and energy efficiency. With lower global warming potential compared with traditional refrigerants, R290 continues to become a preferred option across commercial refrigeration applications.

Beyond front-of-house refrigeration, Stoddart is also continuing to expand the Airex kitchen refrigeration range with the latest Chef Base units. Designed to sit directly beneath live cooking equipment, the Chef Bases provide refrigerated ingredient storage exactly where chefs need it during service, helping improve workflow and make better use of kitchen space.

Available in multiple sizes with two to four drawer configurations, the units are designed to suit a range of cooking line setups and equipment footprints. Each refrigerated drawer supports GN pan compatibility, allowing ingredients to remain organised and easily accessible during preparation and service.

The practical details have also been designed with commercial kitchens in mind. Integrated heat shielding helps protect the refrigeration system from surrounding cooking equipment, while the marine edge top assists with containing spills and simplifying cleaning. Ergonomic non-catch handles, removable components for maintenance and lockable castors further support day-to-day operation in fast-moving kitchen environments.

With refrigeration solutions designed for both front and back of house, Airex by Stoddart continues to expand its range to meet the changing needs of modern hospitality venues.
